Live Love Life...
We farewelled our beloved Marley suddenly and quite unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago...
This morning as a family we sprinkled her ashes in her favourite park so she can nourish the grass, the trees and the creek there...
Though we feel her everywhere....
She was a Big Presence.
Marley was all about Love. She loved every person she ever met. If you were uncertain about dogs she made it her purpose to show you otherwise.
She was all about Living Life - and living each day to maximum benefit....Joyously.
The first thing you would notice about Marley was her Smile... which was soon followed by her whole body wag.
Marley loved to Work. She was a Healer and could read people, especially how they were feeling.
If you were hurting she would pop up next to you and lean in to infuse you with her healing magic...no words necessary. She was my colleague in clinic and very much a part of the work we do.
At Andy's Framing business Marley was our Meet and Greet Specialist.
Oh how She Loved getting the nod from Andy to be able to hop in his van and go off to work with him for the day! (though I would often pick her up at lunchtime to hang out with me for the afternoon...)
She was an assassin Kisser - especially of young children, never missing the opportunity to lean in and give a slobbery smooch if she felt it was needed.
Marley was a Foodie. She could hear me peel a banana from 2 rooms away, or the first cut of an apple and would come running. It became a thing having her beside me cooking in the kitchen. If we were eating something yummy she was fairly certain she would love it too!
And Stealth! We were certain we were not having her on our bed or sleeping with us...How does a 26kg dog manage to steal her way onto the bed ...and have us awaken in the morning with her happily snuggling right between us?
Marley was Sensitive. She had sensitive skin, sensitive ears and sensitive paws, and sensitive feelings... something you would not know looking at her.
...Nor would you know this if you saw her in the park with her Ball. She would go nonstop as hard and as fast as she could ...until we called it.
One of our favourite rituals on Sunday morning was getting a take-way coffee for us and taking Marley up to her park so she could have a run, and sniff, chew sticks, swim, chase her ball, roll in kangaroo poo, then walk up to the oval for a drink. We shared in savouring the air, the day, the silence, and Being with each other...
What an unexpected and heartwarming response there has been from our local community. People have stopped their cars to talk, others have introduced themselves and given me hugs - there have been flowers and cards, smiles and tears... such is the impact of our girl on all who have seen us out walking morning and afternoon in the neighbourhood over the years...
Andy and I are aware there are many lessons for us to learn from having shared this time with Our Amazing Marley...and I hope to share some of them as they unfold. For sure, she has forever changed us and will remain an intimate part of the tapestry we are.
Until then, bring your awareness to:
Live Love Life...
Marley stood for these words.
Life's Best to You! Have an Awesome Easter.
With love,
Pam
