One of my very early paintings from 35 years ago
surfaces!
Kathleen had encountered my paintings approximately 35 years ago when I was starting out as a painter. You’ll love this story!
When I first started painting I was invited to put a painting into an art auction in Sydney
and she and her husband bought the painting. This must have been about painting number five for me in my painting journey. I had been terrified at putting my painting in front of a live auction charity event!
I started the painting on Saturday afternoon with a glass or two of wine and finished by the
evening, slightly pissed! It was my way of having courage to paint and confront my fears! The painting still hangs with pride in their home and they absolutely love it. Actually it’s not too bad now I look at it much further down the track! I rather like it! So grateful they bought it!
But more about Kathleen! Kathleen had done some painting at home but was looking to upgrade her
painting skills. By the end of the workshop she was applying a lot more paint and producing a lot more colour, and painting in flow and getting some outstanding results as you can see from these gorgeous violet blue hydrangeas and the lemon rose. Congrats to Kathleen!
