his position comes from a blitz game that was played between a "Street Hustler" named Wilson, and Grandmaster Maurice Ashley, that has been going viral this week.

   Answer below.

There is a fun video of Grandmaster Maurice Ashley taking out a trash talking "hustler" in Washington Square Park in New York City.

   The video is on GQ.com

and got over 2100 comments and over 5000 upvotes on reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/461hwe/chess_hustler_trash_talks_random_opponent_random/

And here is the video on Maurice's YouTube Channel, which had over 110,000 views in one day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5vnpOp0U_g

   That's pretty amazing!

When I was watching the video I saw a guy in the background, and thought "That looks like Tim Ferriss".  Turns out it IS Tim Ferriss, and this whole thing is a bonus clip from The Tim Ferriss Experiment TV show. You can watch the full series here: http://fourhourworkweek.com/tv/  (If you have been reading my stuff for a while, you know I am a big fan of both Maurice Ashley and Tim Ferriss, so I think that is really cool how they were working together on this!)

The thing I found most interesting is that the "hustler" tries to cheat at one point - knocking a piece, then putting it back on a square where it can be captured by his pawn!  Maurice is very familiar with this kind of skullduggery, and calmly corrects the swindler.  They even have a slow motion of the trick happening!

I have played in Washington Square Park before, and it is quite a site to see.  The scenes from the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer" are pretty accurate.

One funny story - I was in NYC about 15 years ago with my ex-wife Nadya and our friend Sergei that we went to Allegheny College with.  We were all walking back from a bar around 2AM, and we cut through Washington Square Park to get to my friend's apartment.  A guy came up to us and asked if we wanted to buy some drugs.  I was pretty drunk and said, "No, but do you want to play some chess!?"  They guy looked at me and said "Do I look like I have any mother***ing chess pieces?"  lol
