Editors Note: The Tao Newletter is on an unexpected hiatus this week - as the Tao Treasurer and I mourn the passing of the Tao Canine, Chester. He gave us nearly 17 glorious years of unbounded energy, fierce loyalty, attentive kitchen scrap duty and gentle sadness relief.

He was - as I look back on it now - a perpetual happiness generator.
As you can see in the photo below, he was also a Tao Colorist Newsletter copyeditor but refused to have his name added to the byline, insisting his contributions be kept in the background. I don't think he minds me saying he was right here with me, Saturday after Saturday, as I pressed the keys that create this Newlsetter.

This past Monday it became clear his quality of life had deteriorated. Dramatically. Consistent with his spirit of life, energy and general bull-headedness - he was refusing to let go. He had become lost in his own world and he refused to admit it. The Tao Treasurer and I had to make the decision:

It. Was. Time.

On Friday our amazing Veterinarian ( Dr. John Hatch, Secaucus, New Jersey) came to our house; gently our Little Man slipped into the night with the taste of bacon treats freshly on his lips and steak (topped with whipped cream) in his belly.

Team Tao couldn't get the Newsletter together this week. Our concentration is shot. There's a silence we can't stop hearing. We need a few days.

We'll back next week.

Sincerely,

Patrick & Pam Inhofer, Team Tao
