"Part of the healing process is sharing with other people who care."
~Jerry Cantrell
I'm sharing with you the news that I'm having surgery at 1:30 p.m. today. I'm asking for good thoughts, caring and prayers too.
I'm told "It's a piece of cake." Oh, how I would rather have the cake! But seriously, it's not serious; it's not a recurrence of
cancer.
You may recall how I joked several months ago about my reconstructive implants. One had spun upside down. Although I somehow got it corrected once or twice, it later became folded as well as stuck sidewise.
It is a rather funny situation. But the actual surgery to remove and replace them
is not funny. I doubt I'll be laughing as I am wheeled toward the OR. But I am going into it with hope, courage, confidence, self-compassion, faith, and even a little joy.
I appreciate that it's not serious and that many people I care about care about me.
Caring does help healing. And
aren't we all healing in some way?
Don't we all face numerous opportunities for healing - healing of all kinds - as we travel along our particular life paths?
Today, for our own good and the good of all, let's show caring and kindness to everyone we encounter. If we slip, let's
kindly forgive. If others are harsh to us, let's kindly forgive.
"What the world needs now is love, sweet love," goes the song that comes to mind.
Let's give the world all that we can.
Amen,
Charlene
PS - Thank you for caring.
