TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word."

                   ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

I believe this too. Do you?

It may seem unlikely to happen soon, if ever, when we follow the news and see examples of racial tension, explosive violence, and simmering hate.

But, have you seen the reports that show, statistically, that we are, in fact, living in one of the most peaceful times in history?

There is reason to hope. But even if we saw no reason, no promising evidence, we can hold faith that love will have the final world.

We can add energy to that vision. We can grow it. We must.

Let's first remember that beneath all hate there is hurt.

Let's then apply the healing balm of loving kindness to all that hurts in us and in all our sisters and brothers around the world.

There is something more that you and I can do today, every day. Let's ask for the guidance to know what is ours to do and the grace to do it.

Every little act of love matters. Every tiny step moves us closer.

To peace,
Charlene
