"The Earth laughs in flowers."
~ Ralph Waldo
Emerson
I've been missing the profusion of wildflowers that I enjoyed so much every summer when I lived in New Jersey and New York. Queen Anne's Lace is one of my favorites. Even in early childhood I took comfort, inspiration, beauty, joy, and hope from all wildflowers. I saw them as demonstrations of strength and courage too, admiring the way they could push through cracks in
asphalt and thrive along roadsides.
In what ways do wildflowers affect you? Can you imagine Mother Earth laughing? Loving?
I sure don't know to what extent Earth is alive and aware. But I do think that Mother Earth is much more than a big rock with life forms on it.
Let's treat her kindly, with respect, and wise care. Let's appreciatively
connect with her. Heart to heart.
With love and imagination,
Charlene
PS - You may wish to consider this too: "Just imagine becoming the way you used to be as a very young child, before you understood the meaning of any
word, before opinions took over your mind. The real you is loving, joyful, and free. The real you is just like a flower, just like the wind, just like the ocean, just like the sun." (Don Miguel Ruiz)
