TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"Just like the butterfly, I too will awaken in my own time."

             ~ Deborah Chaskin

As will all of us.

We can compare ourselves with trees and flowers too. The rich diversity in nature's plant kingdom includes a spectrum of seasonal sprouting and growing as well as daily bloom timing.

Whenever we become impatient with ourselves, thinking that we should have known something or done something by now,
and whenever we judge others for being slow to grow, let's remember the butterflies, trees, and flowers.

Think of the morning glory, the midday scarlet mallow, the evening primrose, and the night cereus. Consider the century plant too.

We are each blooming in our own time. Awakening, too.

Today, let's wisely and kindly give ourselves and others the gifts of acceptance and encouragement.

With love,
Charlene
