TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"Compassion isn't just about feeling the pain of others, it's about bringing them in toward yourself. In compassion, margins get erased."
           ~  Gregory Boyle

I love how this Jesuit priest not only writes
about compassion, but how he lives it.
Gregory Boyle helps gang members in LA
see goodness and giftedness in themselves.
He brings hurting young people close to his heart and holds them there.

While we may not choose to live among gangs and minister to their members, we all have the capacity to care at this depth.

With compassion as our word for this day,

let's aim to hold everyone we encounter close to our hearts and to treat them with kindness.

With respect and love too,

Charlene

COMPASSION:  May you be gentle with yourself and others. May you forgive those who hurt you and yourself when you make mistakes.
