"The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend."
~ Abraham Lincoln
When this quote caught my attention, I wondered how we make a friend with someone who is not receptive to being in a friendly relationship with us.
And, when we wonder, our inner wisdom offers us guiding ideas.
What came to me was the realization that, no matter how the other person responds, I can maintain a friendly
attitude toward him.
I can aim to respect that person's perspectives and path. I can cultivate compassion for her.
In short, I can become the friend.
Today, consider thinking of yourself as a friend to all.
May grace work in our hearts.
For healing, peace, and joy,
Charlene
