TODAY'S TOUCHSTONE

"God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume.”

                        ~ Vance Havner

We've all been broken.
Many times.
In many ways.
May the brokenness in us,
in all humanity,
bring us to greater compassion, wisdom, and loving.

And to peace,

Charlene

PS - This too is a repeat and one of my favorite quotes. I love the images of the crops, the rain, the bread, the strength, and the perfume all coming from brokenness. Like a nurturing vegetable, rain, bread, or perfume may we each bring goodness into the world.

COMPASSION. May you be gentle with yourself and others. May you forgive those who hurt you and yourself when you make mistakes. (from The Twelve Gifts of Birth)
