"The challenge of life, I have found, is to build a resume that doesn't simply tell a story about what you want to be,
but it's a story about who you want to be." ~ Oprah Winfrey
This touchstone is not about resume writing or job hunting. And it doesn't matter if you are just beginning a work life or if you are well past retirement. Our lives are stories still in the making. As we continue living, growing, hurting, healing, and learning, let's lean in toward the love in our hearts, listen to the wisdom in our souls, and become who we truly are.
For further reflection, consider what a touchstone reader and friend wrote in response to a recent message about making mistakes. Thank you, Jule, for permission to share this:
"I am an avid sewer- and a new quilter. I used to stress a lot about my mistakes and failures in sewing, then I came to the realization that these “ mistakes” were really part of my story while making that garment or quilting that quilt. Be it a missed stitch, a small rip that had to be covered up or a drop of blood from a pin prick. Unless I pointed it out, most people didn’t even see it. I knew it was there and it became part of the story of what I had
been making. I often remind myself that I am the one who is most critical of me. I’m working on making that different- after all, my story is still being worked on." ~ Jule
With love and caring,
