"Some of the best lessons we ever learn are learned from past mistakes. The error of the past is the wisdom and success of the future." ~ Dale Turner
Every now and then I like to see what happened on this day.
From a historical perspective as reported on Internet sites, here are a few examples:
On July 14, 1868 the tape measure was patented.
On July 14, 1933 in Germany all political parties other than the Nazi party were outlawed.
On July 14, 1946 Dr. Spock's baby book was first published.
From another perspective, on this day and every day, a hundred million miracles happened in the past and are happening today.
That's according to Rogers and Hammerstein in The Flower Drum Song and according to a place in our hearts, I believe.
Let's not lose sight of the wonders happening today.
Let's also aim to make our mark on this day a positive one, whether or not it makes the news or gets recorded in history.
And when we look back on past events in the world and in our own lives, let's learn and carry forward wisdom and compassion.
Toward becoming more caring and wise,
Charlene
