"Courage - you develop courage by doing small things like just as if you wouldn't want to pick up a 100-pound weight without preparing yourself."
~ Maya Angelou
Courage. We've all got the capacity for it built into us. If we
use it regularly in small ways, it will be readily available when we need it for large challenges.
One way to exercise our courage muscle is to commit to being real throughout the day, authentic.
Consider this example:
Watch for times you don't know what's being discussed, but you feel that you should. What do you do? Admit it or
pretend you do? How you act when your views are in the minority? Do you go along with the group or share your perspective?
In other words:
Be willing to be vulnerable. Use courage to tell the truth.
Also:
Apologize when you treat someone gruffly or condescendingly. Use
courage to get beyond your ego.
You might also consider:
Driving a route other than your habitual one.
Making phone calls you've been postponing.
Calling an estranged family member or friend.
Bungee jumping. Just kidding!
Using humor and compassion today too,
Charlene
