The quote is from the end of Kisses Sweeter than Wine, a song about love and marriage. But when I heard it this morning, I thought about the lyrics in terms of all aspects of life.
I've had a lot of trouble and pain. We all have. And although, with hindsight, I'd do some things differently, I'm grateful for all of it.
As we near the seasons of giving thanks and giving gifts, let's prepare our hearts by starting, or
continuing, a daily gratitude practice and by cultivating the gift of hope at its deepest levels -where we trust in all that has happened and is happening.
Along the way, from now to the new year, may we better sense and see how all that we have experienced is leading us toward greater understanding, love, compassion, and wisdom. Joy too.
So much so that our hearts will
sing,
Charlene
