"Hope fills the holes of my frustration in my heart."
~
Emanuel Cleaver
As I repeat this quote and listen for a guiding understanding or healing meaning, at first nothing happens.
But then a flute comes to mind. And I wonder: When we draw hope up through our hearts, is it like breath moving through a flute?
I think so. Hope is not like spackle filling wall holes or asphalt filling potholes.
The holes in our hearts are not repaired by hope; they are transformed by it.
I'm pretty sure we all have some holes in our hearts. Let's work with those holes. Instead of demeaning them, let's aim to honor them, using the gift of hope.
Imagine hope as the Breath of Spirit moving through our hearts, using the holes of hurt and frustration to create the beauty-full music of compassion and courage, wisdom, love, joy, and faith.
All in tune with hope,
Charlene
