"The miracles of nature do not seem miracles because they are so common. If no one had ever seen a flower, even a dandelion would be the most startling sight in the world." ~ Source Unknown
A neighbor and I set out for a walk a few days ago. In my front lawn there were two dandelions. They are not common at this time of year. So Kolleen and I were astonished and appreciative of the two bright yellow bursts of color. We paused to look closely. They seemed so alive and so precious.
It's sad but true that we all take so much in life for granted, including such things as our health (until we lose it), family members (until we lose one), our daily bread(until we are challenged to buy groceries or pay the rent or mortgage) our eyesight, hearing, senses of taste and hearing, and so much more.
Let's aim to see everything as extraordinary today. Pick something, anything at all, to focus closely on for a few minutes. Notice how things shift for you. Watch what happens. You have the opportunity to enter into an eternal present moment, with gratitude and awe. It could be while looking into a raindrop. Did you know that when you look into one, the world looks upside down? It could be focusing on a bar of
soup, your breakfast cereal, the knit pattern in your favorite sweater, a scent, a sound, anything. Let "it" find you.
Let's aim to be more awake, more alive, and more ready to experience life's daily newborn opportunities and blessings. Creatures too.
With joy,
Charlene
