"Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world. ~John Milton
Hmm. What part of this quote is most true for you? I hope you have had some awesome ah-ha epiphanies in your life so far and there are more amazing moments of clarity for you.
Yesterday I read The Twelve Gifts of Birth to seven third-grade classes at a school near my home. It got a little crazy with 140 children involved, but it was also enlightening and rewarding.
What I most want to share is that one boy said he thinks that reverence comes from love. "When you really truly love someone, you have reverence for them," he said.
I have found that young children so often demonstrate wisdom, compassion, courage-all the gifts-in ways that are beyond our expectations of them.
Today, let's practice reverence for our loved ones, for the children in our lives and in the world, and for all creation.
With love,
Charlene
