"Look at your feet. You are standing in the sky. When we think of the sky, we tend to look up, but the sky actually begins at the earth. We walk through it, yell into it, rake leaves, wash the dog, and drive cars in it. We breathe it deep within us. With every breath, we inhale millions of molecules of sky, heat them briefly, and then exhale them back into the world.” ~ Diane Ackerman
Standing in the sky? Running? Kite flying? We might think of the kite being on the sky, but us? How imaginative. And, yet, aren't we? Seen from Ms. Ackerman's perspective, yes!
Seriously, instead of thinking that the sky is up
there far away, let's consider Diane Ackerman's perspective. With it, you are I are in the sky, always, except for when we're in a cave or swimming under water, I suppose.
Let's use this delightful point of view often to see differently. Let's
employ it today to be light-hearted and playful. Perhaps it will also lead us to see the earth, the sky, the universe, all of creation with wonderment and reverence too. Wouldn't that be lovely?
Beautiful too,
Charlene
