Trancend Through Healing
FEBRUARY 2009 - OPEN YOUR HEART TO LOVE
Hi ,
It is nearing Valentine's Day so I thought it would be nice to have
Love/Heart Chakra the centre of this month's newsletter. We all
know what it is like to have a broken heart, to love with all our
hearts or to truly put our hearts into something. We also know,
sometimes on an unconscious level, if we are opening our hearts or
are closing our hearts to people or situations. To open your heart
is give love unconditionally to all - it is about being non-
judgmental of others and ourselves. One of the most important
things I've have learned it that we need to learn to love ourselves
for what we are. This includes accepting our strengths and
weaknesses. In this world, no one is perfect, we are all human at
the end of the day, but we can learn to use more of our strengths
and play down our weaknesses. As the song goes 'Love is all you
need', can you imagine a world without love? What can you do today
to bring a little love into your life?
I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day no matter what you are
doing. Have fun!
To Your Happiness,
Rosie
"Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not, nor would it be possessed; for love is
sufficient unto love." - Kahlil Gibran
THE HEART CHAKRA
The heart chakra is located at the level of the heart and emits a
vibrant green colour. It sits in the middle of the seven chakras
where it is the meeting point of energy upward from the earth and
downward from the heavens. The heart is the centre of balance and
relates to compassion and unconditional love. It asks that you
love and ask for nothing in return. Where the heart chakra is
blocked it can relate to an imbalance in giving and receiving -
this relates to all areas of your life. Some find it easy to give
but hard to receive while for others it is the opposite. We need
to both give and receive love. Where we do this then the energy
flows from the heart and then returns to the heart. Touch is
another quality associated with the heart chakra. When you reach
out with your arms and hands, it is from the heart that you truly
reach out. I am sure you know how lovely it is to get a hug or rub
on the back when you are feeling low.
The lower three chakras relate to the emotional self/lower ego and
the higher three chakras relate to the higher soul/spiritual self.
Therefore the heart is the connection of balance and harmony. When
it is balanced, you care about how you affect others. You want to
touch them in a positive, nurturing way. You want to reveal to them
the power of love.
Meditation
you can do this mediation whether you are attuned
to reiki or not. If you are not attuned, simply leave out Step 1
and Step 2. Give yourself some alone time to do this - turn off
the phone, radio or TV. Find yourself a comfortable place to sit
and open yourself to giving and receiving.
1. Do your protection and grounding exercise prior 'calling in' the
reiki.
2. Draw whatever reiki symbols on your hand that you feel drawn to at
this moment. Place your hands on your heart chakra.
3. Gently close your eyes and focus on the movement of your breath.
4. Feel your chest expand and contract. Be aware of the air as it
enters and leaves your body.
5. Focus on your heart chakra, see the colour green envelope your
heart. Feel your heart chakra open to Love. Allow the green
energy to expand from your heart chakra moving gently down through
the rest of your body. See and feel the energy cleanse you, purify
you and release you from limitations. Allow the green energy to
flow down through your legs and out through your feet in the earth
which absorbs all excess negative energy.
6. Now pour forth pink rays of unconditional love into your heart.
Feel the vibrant pink rays flow into and around your heart chakra.
Feel the energy expand through every cell in your body, healing
all hurts and pain and filling you with love. Love is all around
you. Feel from deep within the love flowing out from your heart to
all people everywhere.
7. As you let the love flow from you, feel the love you give being
returned to you. Open your heart wide to receive this love and
compassion. Allow the energy to flow through every cell of your
body, expanding out into your aura. This energy cleanses you and
releases you from past hurt and wounds.
8. Say to yourself or out loud 'I give myself permission to love
myself unconditionally, I invite love into my life and I accept it
graciously. I love, I am loved, and I am love.'
9. Give thanks to the reiki and yourself for allowing time to
experience the giving and receiving of love.
Affirmation
I am loved by a God (replace with whatever resonates with you) that
provides all I need. I am open to receiving and giving love. My
heart is healing. I forgive myself and other. I let go of the
past. I allow the abundance of the universe, to pour into my
heart.
SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR VALENTINE'S DAY
So , what's your plan for valentine's day/night? I
am sure whatever you have planned is great but if you are looking
for some alternative ideas which are fun and unique read on...
Dance the night away - Go to a dance class, the rhythm of the
dancing and the closeness of the bodies brings you closer together.
Even if one of you have two left feet it will give you a laugh!
Home Spa - Prepare yourself or your partner a home treatment. Fill
the bathroom with candles, play some soothing music, burn essence
oil (jasmine, rose, neroli and marigold relate to the heart chakra)
or give each other a massage.
Laugh - Laughter connects people, increases energy and releases
stress and anxiety. Take you partner to a comedy show, funny film
or even retell memories to each other which make you laugh.
First Date - Take your partner on a trip down memory lane. Do
something that you used to do together when you first got together
as a couple. You could go back to the place where you first met or
shared your first kiss. This will bring back the memories and
feelings of excitement of being in a wonderful relationship.
Time - Spend some quality time together. Arrange some time where
you and your partner are alone where you can opening listen to each
other without interruption. Close the doors turn off the phones
and any disruptions even if it is only for 1 hour. You could use
this time to talk about what it is you love about each other, the
great things have happened to each of you and the lovely memories
you have built together in the past year.
Memory book - Create a journal to give to your partner highlighting
special moments you have shared. You could also add pictures of
those moments. Leave pages which you can fill in together for the
special moments in the future. Looking over this together will
make you laugh together but also let your partner truly know you
love them.
Treasure Map - leave post-it notes with clues to reaching their
surprise gift. Or write compliments on what you love about your
partner, hiding them about the house for them to find at any
moment.
But most of all have fun and enjoy the special day together!
But remember Valentine's Day just isn't for couples. If you are
single give yourself a treat to show self-love. You could have a
meal with some friends, treat yourself a massage, buy yourself some
flowers, get new perfume - do something that makes you smile and
marks your love for yourself.
"I will greet this day with love in my heart. And how will I do
this? Henceforth will I look on all things with love and I will be
born again. I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will
love the rain for it cleanses my spirit. I will love the light for
it shows me the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me
the stars. I will welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart; yet
I will endure sadness for it opens my soul. I will acknowledge
rewards for they are my due; yet I will welcome obstacles for they
are my challenge." - Og Mandino
