1. Nourishing Your Body to Eliminate Cravings By Victoria Boutenko

During the last 200 years, humans have been consuming an increasing percentage of highly processed, devitalized foods. As a result, many people have become chronically malnourished. That is why, regardless of our undeniable success in medicine, today's statistics on human health are frightening: "Within a decade, America will spend one of every five dollars on health care, according to government analysts ... The nation's total health care bill by 2015 will be more than $4 trillion."
I believe that the reasons for epidemics of degenerative diseases we are experiencing today are rooted in the lack of proper nutrition which has already lasted for an extensive period of time. This makes the numbers for degenerative disease and obesity especially alarming in well-developed countries where the population consumes large amounts of refined foods.
To cope with malnourishment, the human body produces an added urge to eat, causing us to be constantly hungry. Our cells are "crying" for all the nutrients we need. Sadly, we respond to this urge by eating more processed food, promoting even further malnourishment, along with an increased dependency on processed food, greater cravings, and compulsive eating. For anyone involved in such a vicious cycle, the conversion to a raw food diet appears to be extremely difficult because of this constant hunger. That is why I recommend nourishing your body for several weeks before switching to a raw food diet.
I consider greens to be the most nutritious food on earth. Blending is similar to chewing; therefore, eating blended food dramatically improves your health. After being broken down in a high-speed blender, pieces of food become the perfect size for assimilation. I highly recommend consuming green smoothies on a regular basis, whether on a raw or cooked food diet. I have already witnessed many cases in which people were able to greatly improve their health by adding blended greens to their daily regimen.
From my observation, the best results are reached by substituting breakfast altogether with a quart of green smoothie. Consequently, green smoothies are the best food to aid in the fastest restoration of the nutrient reserves of the body. Recovering from inadequate nutrition will significantly reduce unhealthy cravings and prepare you for an easier transformation to the raw food lifestyle.
In some cases natural supplements could be useful, however, I would like to caution against trying to substitute supplements for real food altogether. The regular consumption of nutritionally rich products will ease your cravings and will make your transformation to a raw food diet much smoother and less distressing.
Message from Victoria: This book started out as an attempt to revise the original version of "12 Step to Raw Foods." While working on this project I found so much new data that I ended up writing a totally new book. Since I kept 25% of the material from the original version, I kept the title the same.
2. Answering Your Questions
Q. Dear Tonya! Would you please share your current daily food/beauty regime? -T
A. Every morning I begin by applying clay mask to my face for 3- 5 minutes. I am still looking for the best mask to recommend. I will write about my findings in the next newsletter. Removing a clay mask sometimes is a challenge. That is why I use a large toothbrush. It provides better exfoliation. I then apply my cream abundantly and use the Violet Ray device for 5 minutes on my face and 5 minutes on my scalp. Be sure to use an Egg Timer to keep the time in check. In the morning, as your mind is making plans for the day what seams to you like 10 minutes, might be only 40 seconds!
Before going to bed, I wash my face with gentle cleaning wash rather than soap. Then I dry my face with a towel. I do dry brushing for one minute. Finally, I apply the cream again. To read more about how important facial brushing is visit:

I use the Rolling Bed of Pins on my face at least twice during the day. I use it when I read a book, talk on the phone or drive (and I am the passenger). It only takes a few minutes.
I use the Rolling Bed of Pins for 10 minutes on my scalp before going to bed. Again have a timer standing by. It must be 10 minutes to achieve abundant new hair growth. Make it into a habit and do it every single day!

Does it look as if my beauty ritual takes too much time? Not at all! About 30 minutes total! When it becomes a habit, it takes no effort. Develop your own beauty routine and stick to it. To have a beauty regimen is very helpful, but it is not absolutely necessary. What is absolutely necessary is to eat fresh green, fruits and vegetables.
In my May newsletter, I will send you an article entitled Quantum Eating. This article will provide an overview of my up-coming book and I will give a complete report of how I eat on a daily basis. The way I eat is very unusual. To avoid concerns or criticism, I must give some explanations first in order to convey at least the general idea of why the way I eat brings the best anti-aging results.

4. Because this book addresses advanced raw food lifestyle and the highest possible level of health, the recipe must not include any soy products, oils, mushrooms, or any items that must be marinated or dehydrated.

4. Beauty Tip: Coconut Water
Coconut water for beautiful hair and complexion. You know coconuts are a delicious part of the raw food diet but it is also a beauty supplement. Using the water on your hair and face will make you feel like a Tahitian beauty.
Wet your hair in coconut water. Apply coconut water all over the scalp and massage into roots. Use some of it on your face as well. Put on a cosmetic cap and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then wash and condition as usual. If you do 50-100 strokes to brush you hair before this procedure the effectiveness will greatly increase. If you have my Rolling Bed of Pins you can use it for 10 minutes before applying coconut water. Apply on your hair at least once per week for several months.
It is known that coconut water is effective against skin blemishes. Dab coconut water on blemishes and leave for an hour. Use it for at least 15 days.

Hello Tonya, I am finishing your books Your right to be beautiful and the recipe book. I am very motivated and excited. I have seen improvement in my skin, it is not as itchy and the redness has gone away. The weekend I heard you speak at Hallelujah Acres I started my totally raw diet. I have done great and I have been trying to not eat after 6:00pm. Some days I have eaten at 5:00. I love the way my abdomen feels when I wake up in the morning. Empty. Not full. I made your Red pecan crackers, they are absolutely fabulous. I started body and face brushing and I don't think I am imagining it but my face appears smoother already. Dear Tonya, I read your two books (twice); Beautiful on Raw and Uncooked Creations. They are both brilliant, highly informative, incredibly well researched and also very easy and enjoyable to read. Hello Tonya, I guess it did not take me 100 days to transition to raw, lol! :-) I have not had cooked food since last Sunday. On Monday I juice fasted and then transitioned to 100% raw. Today is my 6th day of 100% raw eating. I am enjoying fresh fruits, big salads with fresh veggies, avocados, nuts and seeds, green smoothies, freshly juiced veggie juices, and sprouted beans, peas, and seeds. I have a runny nose, so I think I am having a mild detox/cleansing reaction. But I feel radiant and I am full of energy! I have been listening to your CDs over and over and over again in my car and they are just as inspiring as your talk in Havana was.
