Unstoppable Family June Newsletter from Cusco, Peru!

Published: Tue, 06/07/11

Hi Everyone!

We are sending this June newsletter to you from Cusco, Peru! We finally ended our 3.5 months in Bocas del Toro, Panama, and headed to Panama City for some well deserved shopping.

Since we'd been living in the tropics our wardrobes weren't really appropriate for the cooler weather in Peru, so we had to go out and buy some warm clothing! Hanalei and I stayed in Panama City, while Brian went to Santa Catalina to catch some waves with an old buddy of ours, Tim Sullivan, who flew in from Nicaragua. After 5 days of shopping and big waves we were all ready for Peru.

We arrived in Lima and spent a few days enjoying the coast, then it was time for Cusco.

Macbooks and Passports Stolen

As beautiful as Cusco is, our first few days were less than our best. When we were moving our bags to our new accommodation, our backpacks drove off in a taxi cab, including our Macbook Pro laptops and passports! Well, they didn't actually drive themselves...but the driver took the opportunity to drive off when we didn't notice the bag was still in the car.

As devastating as it seems, we handled it with stride. A friend we had met the night before helped us contact the tourist police and check the street cameras...and guess what?  We saw our car and ourselves on the street camera, but when the driver went to open the trunk, a car had pulled up right behind us and blocked the camera from seeing the license plate. So needless to say, the backpack with both computers and passports were gone.

Luckily we found Hanalei's iPad in another bag and we still had an iPhone so we figured we could do some business using them.

The week following the incident was filled with us moving from cafe to restaurant and back to cafe again to pick up strong internet....a bit frustrating but possible nonetheless. We just had to hang on in there until our friends Randy and Linda Laymen arrived in Cusco from Panama City for our Destiny Event...they were bringing our replacement Macbooks with them.

It was happy days when our new computers arrived in Cusco! To the left is a photo of Rhonda with her new Mac at the Monasterio Hotel and to the right is the fabulous chapel.

LifePath Unlimited's Destiny Event!

One of the reasons we came to Peru was to attend our company's Destiny Event being held from May 29th-June 2nd at the Monasterio Hotel in Cusco. LifePath Unlimited hosts the 5-day Destiny Event once a year at luxury resorts in exotic locations around the globe.

When we arrived at the hotel we couldn't believe our eyes because it is absolutely spectacular! This hotel was an old monastery dating back to 1592 and is built on Inka foundations. Our opening ceremony was in a spectacular church with original paintings.

We embarked on a spiritual journey with a multitude of Shamans from the villages in Peru who teach the ancient Inka beliefs. We explored Machu Picchu and learned the history of the Inkas and their connection to Mother Earth and the Sun. We were taken through a number of cleansing rituals and taught how to connect to our inner spirits. This experience has been one of the most enlightening moments of our life! There are no words to describe how incredible this experience has been.

We truly believe that everything happens for a reason, so we had to look for the gold lining in losing our two computers and our passports. We are healthy and happy and computers and passports are replaceable.  It is the memories we have that will last a lifetime!

So go out and live, and enjoy every moment...even if it doesn't look so good now, there is always a reason why it happened. So be grateful you are alive to experience it!

Brian celebrated his birthday At Tipon Temple with a cleansing ritual in the Sacred Valley with 3 Shamans. We were all blessed with sacred water flowing from the Andes Mountains and Apu Ausangate by Don Ramon, a shaman that walked a full day over the mountains to be with us. I celebrated my Birthday at the "Circus" after our Mascarade Party closing the Destiny Event!

Cheers to being Unstoppable!
