Mystical Potency of Srila Prabhupada's Books

 The
books of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupada are the most amazing and comprehensible
presentation of the Vedic wisdom ever made available to
the human society in the history of the universe. By the
divine potency of his books the entire world is being
inundated in a tidal wave of bhakti, which will bless
the human society for at least 10,000 years. Even now
the millions and millions of his books that have been
distributed all over the world in so many different
languages are having a powerful potency to hold off the
debilitating and destabilizing effects of the Age of
Kali. The efforts of the world's current political
leaders to solve the world's problems are not successful
because they do not understand the root cause of all the
problems. Instead of solving the problems, their
so-called solutions are actually making the situation
worse and worse. Therefore we are making this urgent
appeal to all of the world's leaders in all spheres of
human activity to study, follow, and implement the
teachings of Srila Prabhupada as the guiding principle
for their lives and for the entire human society. This
will bring in a new era of peace and prosperity to the
ever more distraught human society.

I assisted in your recent 2012 conference last Tuesday
night in Rancagua, Chile, and I have several questions.
One of them has been very much on my mind: What are the
benefits of eating no meat at all for the one who is
trying to practice bhakti yoga?

Answer: One Cannot Eat the
Children of His Beloved. |
|
|
Krishna prescribes in the
Bhagavad-gita that we should only eat the foods that we
first offer to Him. And He also prescribes that we
should only offer Him vegetarian foods. Therefore to be
a devotee of Krishna means that one cannot eat meat.
It is also a matter of common sense. For those who want
to awaken the dormant love of God within their hearts,
to give up meat eating is absolutely essential because
the animals are God's dear children. How can we love
someone when we eat their dear children? It is not
possible. If we truly love someone, we will not eat his
children. If we love him, we will always respect and
honor his children.
