Wednesday 2 February 2011--Don't Fall Into the Trap of Sanctimoniousness--and--Does Krishna Get Angry?

Published: Tue, 02/01/11

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna, and His eternal consort, Srimati Radharani are enjoying transcendental pastimes in the topmost planet of the spiritual world, Sri Goloka Vrindavan. They are beckoning us to rejoin them.

Our Mission: To help everyone awaken their original Krishna consciousness, which is eternal, full of knowledge and full of bliss. Such a global awakening will, in one stroke, solve all the problems of the world society bringing in a new era of unprecedented peace and prosperity for all. May that day, which the world so desperately needs, come very soon. We request you to participate in this mission by reviving your dormant Krishna consciousness and assisting us in spreading this science all over the world.

Dedicated with love to ISKCON Founder-Acharya: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, our beloved spiritual master, and to you, our dear readers.

Today's Thought:

Don't Fall Into the Trap of Sanctimoniousness
Uploaded from Bhaktivedanta Ashram--Austin, Texas USA

To be sanctimonious is to make a false show of being very spiritually advanced. And sanctimoniousness is the foolish attitude of the sanctimonious person. In the material world where even the pauper is proud of his penny, everyone has the tendency to be proud of whatever he or she possesses. Therefore an aspiring transcendentalist has to be very careful not to fall into the trap of sanctimoniousness. He has to be very careful not to become proud of whatever spiritual progress he has made or whatever talents or opulences he possesses. If he does not check his pride, his pride will check him. To conquer over pride he should always feel himself to be lower than the straw in the street and offer all respect to others without demanding any respect for himself. This is one of the most sublime teachings of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead who appeared in the form of His most merciful devotee 500 years ago in India.

Answers According to the Vedic Version:

Question: Does Krishna Get Angry?

Does Krishna get angry anytime? If He does get angry, how does He react? Should a devotee get angry or not?

Thanks in advance,

Vinay

Answer: Krishna Becomes the Most Angry

Krishna becomes very, very angry when His devotees are tortured. He became so angry when Hiranyakasipu was trying to kill Prahlada Maharaja that He appeared in the form of Lord Nrsimhadeva and ripped that rascal apart with His own finger nails.

If a devotee is personally insulted he remains meek and humble. But if the Lord or another devotee is insulted, he becomes angry like fire to chastise the blasphemer. Such anger is divine.
