Sometimes it's difficult for
people to remember that....
... and I want to ensure my kids never forget it. One thing I realized (and shared at my wall):
"...Communications shine.
ALWAYS
but always be on the lookout if your friend/family members/etc act in a somewhat unusual way.
Chances are, there are things going on in their life about which you have no clue.
Make it easy for people you love to reach out and ask to talk to you.
Don't judge. Just be there. And listen. And validate. And let them know that while you cannot solve their issues, you CAN figuratively walk side by side with them, and let them know you believe in them, always and forever.
Life is too short to allow yourself to be hurt by actions caused by unthinking folk.
There's always a space between the provocation and your reaction... make sure to use that space wisely and be a hero."
