| Extreme Recess with the Capitals |
We will be partnering with the Washington Capitals to hold a special/sled hockey clinic for over 60 disabled children on Friday, February 11th at 11:30 AM. The clinic will be taking place at the Kettler IcePlex, in Arlington, VA (The Capitals training facility) kids will go through a progression of activities and drills and will get to meet players and coaches.
Any child with a disability (physical, developmental) between the ages of 4-24 is encouraged to sign up. No prior experience or skating ability is necessary, every child will be able to participate w/ the help of our trained volunteers.
We are currently hoping to connect with anyone who has experience with special/sled hockey and is interested in getting involved. We will also be collaborating with several press entities to help us to raise awareness for adaptive athletics, special/sled hockey and the important role that it plays in the lives of the areas disabled youth. Dreams for Kids would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest member to our Advisory Board, Basim Mansour. After coming out to our Holiday for Hope event this past December, Basim has pledged to not only get involved in our Extreme Recess events in the future but also serve on our Board!
