You may have noticed on whipup this week that we have begun on a new guest series – this time I invited my favourite knitting designers to share their ideas, inspirations, process and tips. I am very excited about this series for a couple of reasons. Firstly I am forever curious about the process of creation by my fellow creatives and so I am happy that these talented designers – from the professional to the occasional – have agreed to share their insights with me and with you. Secondly this series marks a turning point for whipup.
Forever I have had different contributors here at whipup, at first contributors tended to be regular posters, but more recently – the past couple of years – I have enjoyed hosting different series with guest contributors. This started in 2010 when I needed to take a blogging break and so organised an eclectic series of bloggers essays and tutorials [2010 guest blogger series], the following year I did the same thing only twice! [2011 guest series #1, 2011 guest series #2], then earlier this year I decided to be a bit more thematic in my approach, I wanted to explore creativity and so arranged a very satisfying Creativity series 2012. Over the next year at least I will running more of these thematic series – currently it’s the Knitting designer series. Enjoy!
This post is called a turning point for than that reason. Recently I released the latest edition of Action Pack Magazine – the Go Tribal issue, for those awaiting this issue, you may have noticed it appeared almost 2 months later than was planned and promised. “I had this vision that I was superwoman/supermother – but it turns out that I am just a really disorganised person who can’t do two things at once. Anyway I am back on track now after a mini crash post major deadline.” Naturally the contributors were understanding and hopefully you my dear readers have been as well. This explains the slowing down of whipup, the less frequent but perhaps more meaningful posting — which will continue into the next year.
