Notes From the Rep Biz
Agent Laura Gibson has left Rebel Entertainment Partners and joined ICM. We're still working out who will be following her to the new gig, but her client list at Rebel included "True Blood" actor Dan Buran, among others.
Speaking of ICM, "X-Men: First Class" actor Edi Gathegi has signed with Leigh Brillstein. He continues to be repped by Maryellen Mulcahy at Framework.
And as has been the case with ICM lately, it's one up, one down: "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" alum Sarah Paulson has left the agency and signed with Sarah Clossey at UTA. She continues to be repped by manager Perri Kipperman.
Agent Brinda Bhatt has left Innovative and has joined Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin Entertainment as a manager.
Stephen Dorff, whose career got a shot in the arm with Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere," is now represented by managers Beth Holden-Garland and Jason Weinberg at Untitled Entertainment. He continues to be represented by David Unger at ICM.
Here's an interesting move that flew under the radar: Scarlett Johansson is now managed by Rick Yorn at Yorn ManagementGroup. The move came with no fanfare, but she joins one of the more star-studded lists in the business, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake. Johansson's manager had been her mother, Melanie Sloan, but adding Yorn to the team should take an already-thriving career to the next level.
On the PR Front: actor Chad Michael Murray has signed with MLC PR.
"White Collar" star Matt Bomer, "Runaways" star Riley Keough and "True Blood" star Joe Manganiello have all booked roles in Steven Soderbergh's male stripper movie "Magic Mike." Bomer is represented by CAA's Joe Machota, and by manager Tony Lipp at Anonymous Content. Keough is repped by WME's Thor Bradwell and Hilla Narov at Full Picture Management. Manganiello is repped by Kami Putnam Heist at CAA and manager Colleen Schlegel at Valeo Entertainment.
"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" star Reeve Carney has signed on for the role of Jeff Buckley in the Jeff Buckley project that still needed a Jeff Buckley (Penn Badgley has the role in the other one). He is repped by Norman Aladjem at Paradigm, and by DAS Communications on the music side.
British actress Rosamund Pike has joined Tom Cruise in "One Shot," the film based on the first Jack Reacher novel. Pike is repped by Theresa Peters at UTA, Dallas Smith at United Agents in the U.K., and by manager Shelly Browning at Magnolia Entertainment.
Who's Making Deals?
Because it wouldn't be TV without him
Jim Belushi is ready to team up with "Murphy Brown" creator Diane English on a new sitcom that will have him playing another family man. Belushi is repped by Eddy Yablans at ICM and manager Marc Gurvitz at Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
Dances with Hatfields!
Bill Paxton is set to star opposite Kevin Costner in a History Channel mini-series to be directed by Kevin Reynolds, depicting the epic rivalry between the Hatfield and McCoy families. Paxton is repped by WME's Brian Swardstrom.
