Notes From the Rep Biz
- Oscar-winning filmmaker Jonathan Demme has left ICM and signed with Chris Donnelly at WME. Shortly after this news broke, it was announced that Demme's next project would be an adaptation of the forthcoming Stephen King novel "11/23/63."
- "Smallville" star Tom Welling is another new sign for WME. He was previously with CAA. George Freeman is his new point.
- Two young stars of Wes Anderson's upcoming "Moonrise Kingdom," Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward, have signed with ICM. Hayward is now repped by Bonnie Bernstein. Gilman is with Joanne Wiles, as well as managers Jessica Lauren and Betsy Norton at D-Mand Talent.
- Topher Grace has left WME and signed with Toni Howard at ICM, which may signal a return to TV for the former "That 70s Show" star. He continues to be managed by Aleen Keshishian at Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
- "Entourage" writer/producer Doug Ellin has left WME for CAA, where he will be repped by Richard Lovett.
- Entrepreneur, TV personality and excellent gift basket arranger Martha Stewart has signed with Jeff Jacobs at CAA.
- On the PR Front: actresses Cassie Steele, Willow Shields, Katherine McNamara, Naturi Naughton, and Mary Lynn Rajskub have all signed with Much and House PR; actress Taissa Farmiga (Vera's lil' sis) has signed with WKT PR.
- We'd also like to update two announcements made in our August 1st newsletter: Hailee Steinfeld will not be represented by Magnolia Entertainment after all, and filmmaker Dee Rees is now with WME, not UTA.
Who's Booking?
- "Dinner for Schmucks" star Stephanie Szostak has landed a role opposite Ryan Reynolds in the feature "RIPD." She is represented by UTA's Darren Boghosian, and by manager Estelle Lasher at Principal Entertainment.
- Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora's 13 year-old daughter Ava Sambora has joined the cast of Judd Apatow's untitled "Knocked Up" spinoff. She is repped by manager Leanne Coronel at the Coronel Group.

- Jane Kaczmarek has been cast as a regular on the NBC comedy "Whitney," where she will play the mother of Whitney Cummings' title character. Kaczmarek is repped by Hildy Gottlieb at ICM and manager Adena Chawke at Greenlight Management.
- A brawler and a fighter
- Russell Crowe is set to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in the Allan Hughes-directed Noir "Broken City." Crowe is repped by George Freeman at WME. But that's not all for the busy Mr. Wahlberg, who is also attached as the lead in the graphic novel adaptation "2 Guns," set up at Universal.
