Notes From the Rep Biz

  • The Golden Globe Awards were Sunday night, and while CAA clients made their usual strong showing in the feature film categories, with Alexander Payne, Michel Hazanavicius, George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams all taking home trophies, WME also had a very good night with awards for Martin Scorsese, Octavia Spencer, Claire Danes, Jessica Lange, Matt LeBlanc and "Homeland" showrunners Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon. Not such a remarkable night for anyone else, although UTA seems to have a handle on the BBC, representing Idris Elba and Julian Fellowes, both of whom won their respective categories.

  • Family reunion on Wilshire? Well, it's been a matter of weeks since Maggie Gyllenhaal traded CAA for WME, and now Jake Gyllenhaal has done the same. His new point will be Patrick Whitesell. Jake also recently parted ways with managers Suzan Bymel and Evelyn O'Neill of Management 360, so it seems he was looking for a change.

  • Actor and director David Schwimmer has also shaken things up, leaving longtime agency Gersh, and signing with CAA's Nick Styne. Schwimmer is also a Management 360 client, but it looks like he's sticking with them for the time being.

  • Actress and TV chef Debi Mazar has new agents, signing with APA. Her point will be Barry McPherson. She continues to be managed by Peg Donegan at Framework.

  • Writer/director Jeffrey Nachmanoff, who directed a couple episodes of the Globe-winning "Homeland," has signed with CAA's Dan Aloni.

  • Paradigm has made yet another acquisition for their already strong music touring division, absorbing booking agency AM Only, which specializes in electronic music and lists David Guetta and Tiesto as clients.

  • On the PR Front: new signs for The Anderson Group include actors Russell Hornsby and Nyambi Nyambi.

Who's Booking?

  • Emmy-winner Richard Schiff has landed the role of Dr. Emil Hamilton in the forthcoming Superman reboot "Man of Steel." Schiff is represented by agency IFA Talent and by manager Michael Garnett at Leverage

  • Hot young indie stars Elizabeth Olsen, Dane DeHaan and Jack Huston have all joined the Beat Generation thriller "Kill Your Darlings," which already had Daniel Radcliffe attached. The trio is represented by Gersh, CAA and UTA, respectively. DeHaan is also with manager Courtney Kivowitz at The Schiff Company, while Huston is managed by Todd Diener at Untitled.

Who's Making Deals?

  • A shot in the arm from the Coen Bros.
    • Still in search of a breakout performance, Garrett Hedlund has joined the cast of Joel and Ethan Coen's latest, "Inside Llewyn Davis." His reps are WME's Megan Silverman and Brillstein's Cynthia Pett-Dante.

  • Hawke sighted
    • Ethan Hawke will lend his talents to a low-budget sci-fi thriller from "Paranormal Activity" producers Blumhouse and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes. He is repped CAA's Peter Levine.

  • When an arc requires a deal
    • Paul Rudd, a guy who is probably turning down 20 feature comedies a week, is reportedly set for an arc on the popular NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation." Rudd is with UTA's Shani Rosenzweig and manager Aleen Keshishian at Brillstein.
