Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Take time to enjoy today -- who you love, where you are, and what you have.

A general job category can have a wide variety of actual types of work. Someone asked about working as a "researcher" and where to find those jobs. I've done some research work. A temporary staffing agency hired me. My assignments were going to the courthouse and researching various documents to verify information. For a completely different type of research, my brother-in-law did seasonal work with potatoes at an ag school (university). It was hands-on, working with the potatoes; not a paperwork job. While we both did research, and both were temporary jobs, that's about where the similarities ended.

Bob and I are at Route 82 RV Park in northern Texas. It's outside of the little town of Savoy, northeast of Dallas. It is amazingly peaceful, with Texas Longhorns grazing in the pasture on the other side of the fence. It's a new park, so new that construction is not yet complete. We like it here!

Remember that if you stay at Galveston Island RV Resort between now and May 20, and you tell them Coleen from Workers On Wheels sent you, you'll get free electricity and a free souvenir t-shirt. More about GIRVR.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

New! Promoting Your RV-Home Business

You asked if you could advertise your home-based business on Workers On Wheels. Yes you can! It's a new service we are offering. The purpose is two-fold.

If you have a direct sales, referral, MLM, or commission based business, you can use the service to reach RVers and potential RVers. If you are looking for RVers to work as independent contractors -- rather than employees -- this service is for you.

And, it's to help RVers who are looking for contract work or self-employment. We're firm believers in self-employment. Having a home business you take on the road gives you flexibility, excellent earning potential, and can provide valuable tax deductions. The business listings will let you know what's available. It will make it easier to compare various companies and programs, to find the one that may be right for you.

If you'd like to have your business included, you'll need to use the form on our website. There is a fee for the service.

Working RVer Tip -- Rig Modifications

Modify your rig to make it more suitable for the work you are doing. You might add accessories that make your job easier. For instance, we added a solar system so we can comfortably park and work at flea markets and caretaking properties where they don't have electrical hook-ups. In one trailer, Bob took out the couch and built in a floor to ceiling storage cabinet. In another, we removed the couch and built in a computer desk. You can make significant changes that make you RVing life and work easier.
