Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

The biggest payoff from your volunteer job may have nothing to do with money. The volunteer positions we post provide an RV site. Sometimes, they include utilities, meals, or other financial benefits. Certainly, those things are a big help in keeping the cost of RV living down. And, if you have fewer expenses, you need less income. However, the rewards of volunteering go way beyond that.

Bob and I are in the mid-west. We're visiting our mothers before heading back to Alaska for the summer.

The mid-week edition of this Workers On Wheels Newsletter will again have the newest job postings for you. In this issue, be sure to read about Bob's experience working on a shrimp boat is south Texas.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

The Jerky Business that Lets You Be Location Independent

Campground jobs are convenient, if you want to stay in one place for a month or longer. But, if your desire is to be truly nomadic and to move frequently, you need something else. One location independent way to earn a living is to join me in Jerky Direct. Our training is specific, practical, and RVer tested. Sell jerky or leverage team efforts. More details here.

Bait Shrimping with Captain Eddie

Shrimp boats line the channel behind our motorhome. We are at an RV park in Port Isabel, in southern Texas. The banter of the shrimping crews, much of it in Spanish, wakes us most mornings. If that doesn't, the starting of the boat engines does. I watch. I wonder what it is like to work on one of those boats.

JR Watkins - Another Location Independent Business for RVers

Bob and I have been selling JR Watkins products since 2005. People love the vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper, the old time remedies, and the natural skin care products - and that makes it easy to sell. The business is extremely flexible. You do as much or as little as you want. No minimum orders. They'll drop-ship the products for you. Work the business wherever your RV travels take you -- USA or Canada. See the product catalog and learn more.

Working RVer Tip - Don't Study Yourself to Broke

Working in a campground is not rocket science. Find a campground you like and ask for a job. Tell the manager what you can do, your skills, and abilities. Ask if he needs your services. You can spend weeks, months, years even, reading and studying about how to be a working RVer -- and doing so can be fun! But, all that studying is probably more apt to lead you to broke than it is to a job. If rocket science is your profession -- and yes, there are short-term rocket science jobs for RVers -- contact companies (including specialized temp staffing services) that hire rocket scientists. If you are looking for a campground job, and you are ready to work, reach out to campground owners. You can spend endless time researching the possibilities for the perfect job, but you may be best to get an okay job to support yourself in the meantime.

Earn Your Living with a Blog or Website

A blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Working RVer Tip - School Yard Camp Hosting

If you are looking for short work camping assignments, consider being a camp host at a schoolyard. You may be welcome for stays at short as two weeks. This is especially true if after your two weeks is done you then move to another school within the district.
