Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

How often do you go back to work at the same place? Some working RVers always look for somewhere new. Others go back to the same jobs year after year.

We are spending this winter at our friends' estate. We became friends, years ago, when Bob worked for them. Bob's now busy doing projects -- tree trimming, mechanical work, construction, and general handyman jobs. We haven't spent a winter in the southeast for quite a while. When we decided it was time to winter in this part of the country again, visiting our friends certainly played a part in our decision.

This isn't the first place we've returned to work. Bob worked for a tourist attraction in the Black Hills three different summers and one winter. There have been several fairs, flea markets and farm shows where we've set up our vendor booth more than once.

Still since going full-time in 1992, most times we seek out new experiences. Even when we return to the same community -- or to the same job -- the actual work is different.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip

Keep in touch with your past employers on a regular basis. If they're thinking of you, they'll be more likely to recommend you or rehire you.

Attract Jobs from Out of the Blue

How you look and how you act can attract jobs. I'm not talking about how you look and act at a job interview. Or, even when you go into a place and ask about work or turn in a job application.

Earn Your Living with a Blog or Website

A blog or website is yet another way to earn a living without being tied to one location. Your blog can be about most anything. Picking a topic that you enjoy can make it seem more like fun than work. Still, you have to figure out a way to make money with it. SoloBuiltIt! (SBI!) is an all-in-one program that guides you from picking a profitable website topic, to building the actual site, to keeping up with ever-changing technology. Yes, we use SIB! for our Workers On Wheels website.

Working RVer Tip

Don't expect campground owners and other seasonal employers to pay you unreported income "under the table" so you can continue to collect Supplemental Security Income (SSI) while you are employed.
