Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Bob and I are still on the south Texas beach. We have friends and family asking when we are returning to Alaska. But, really? The weather forecast is still predicting below zero temps back in Soldotna. That's a good reason to stay in this part of the country a while longer.

I've been stalked. And, compared to George Strait! This past week, Workers On Wheels subscribers who have been following us for years, caught up with us in person. She tells me she has been stalking me the way her husband stalks George Strait! Now, if that's not a compliment, I don't know what is. Thanks, Jack and Bev. It is always a pleasure to meet our subscribers and to hear that our work helps and inspires other RVers.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip -- Read Books Related to Your Work

What kind of work would you like to do? Read a book about it. It could be -- but doesn't need to be -- a book written to tell you how to get started with a certain job or profession. Instead, it could be one written by someone doing that job, written as advice to consumers. An example of this would be a book a professional organizer wrote telling how to organize a home office. Read with a new perspective, it can teach you much about the organizer's job. Reading books about the kind of work you are considering can help you decide if that work would be a good match for you or not.

Campground Jobs with Kids: Employer Concerns and Tips for Getting the Job

Campground jobs and kids sound like they'd go together like apple pie and ice cream. You can find RV parks that welcome working RVer families with young children. Unfortunately, however, because of some bad apples, some campground managers do not want to hire families with kids. Here we share with you their concerns and some ways to help you overcome obstacles you may face as RVers with children.

Working RVer Tip -- Keep Track of Your Training

Keep a running record of training you receive. This could include on-the-job training for such things as a campground reservation software program. Or, a certification you receive for dispensing propane or applying pesticides. A CPR or first aid class is especially noteworthy. Also, include workshops at RV rallies and community education classes.
