Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Yes, we are still posting job listings on the Workers On Wheels website. We've streamlined them, so you don't need to look through so many pages. Whenever you want to find the most recently posted Help Wanted ads, just go the Current Job Listings page.

I goofed in last week's newsletter. The link to the featured article didn't link. Let me try it again. The article is Those Who Take Action Get Paid, Even if What They Do Isn't So Great.

If you know of a campground, tourist attraction, or seasonal business that needs working RVers, please tell them about Workers On Wheels.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip -- Improve Your Resume

Shorten your resume and give your work experience more impact. If you have a series of similar, short-term positions, combine them into one listing on your resume. It may read something such as, "Five years retail experience."

Working RVer Tip -- Dish Washer

For a seasonal job, there's always restaurant dish washing. I heard an owner and manager discussing dishwashers and this was the quote concerning the hiring requirement. "If he can stand up straight and breath." It isn't glamorous. But, the positions are readily available, in most every community. The pay, with tips, can be decent. It's a job with little responsibility -- one that you do, punch out, and leave. Since high school kids often work these jobs during the weekends, you may be able to work weekdays and have your weekends for fun. You can often choose your hours, from very early to very late.

Working RVer Tip -- Retired?

If you put on your resume that you are "retired," it sends the message that your days of serious working are over. That may or may not be what you want to convey. If a help wanted ad indicates seeking a "retired" person, it usually means little or no wages. They expect retired RVers to have other income.
