Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

Tomorrow may be too late. When we announce job openings, they sometimes fill within hours. Yes, hours. If you are interested, make contact right away. A couple of our readers reminded me of this the other day when they commented they could no longer find the listing for a specific job. We take the ads down once the employer lets us know the position is no longer available, and that is sometimes the very same day we post the ad.

How do you overcome your weaknesses? Prepare an answer to that question before you go on your job interview. The interviewer may ask you what your weaknesses are. What he probably wants to know, however, is how you compensate for them.

With Thanksgiving less than three weeks away, it's an excellent time to count our blessing. I hope that you have much to be thankful for this year.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip - Volunteer Job Experience Counts

Your time as a volunteer can count as legitimate job experience. When listing your job experiences on your resume, they don't need to come from paid positions. Document your tasks and duties along with your responsibilities and accomplishments. It's also good to keep track of the dates of the volunteer positions and names of your supervisors.

Is Having an Online Business All It's Cracked Up to Be?

SBI!'s recent blog post, "The State of Solopreneurship -- Has It Lived Up to the Hype?" looks at the good and the bad of various types of small businesses and self-employment. It also compares different online business building platforms. The post is long, and full of facts and figures -- you may find it fascinating or boring as all get out. If you are considering putting up a website or blog, it's worth taking the time to read.

Working as a Certified Water Treatment Operator in an RV Park

Water is essential for all life -- including happy campers. A certified water operator, with the knowledge and skills to keep an RV park water system in compliance, makes for a happy park owner. The general rule requires any water system with 15 or more connections, or 25 or more persons, to adhere to certain standards. There are also rules for seasonal water systems.

Working RVer Tip -- Set Yourself Above Other Job Seekers

Updated your job resume with a positive job report. After you finish a job, if it was a good experience, ad an update letting others know about it. If you have an online resume, add it there. Also, note it on your social media. It sets you above the competition. The facts are that many workers grumble and complain. Employers look for workers with positive attitudes. Posting about your good experience showcases your positive nature.
