Update from Your RV Workers On Wheels Newsletter Editor

The best time to find a job isn't the only time to find a job. Most RVers who are working Christmas tree sales lots during the next few weeks already have those jobs in place. They undoubtedly started looking for them months ago. However, it is still possible to find a job working in a tree lot or on a tree farm. There are always last minute cancellations, no-shows, and situations that just don't work out right.

Another example is working at seasonal theme parks. While I'm sure the attractions wanted to have their Christmas season workers all in place at the start of the season a few weeks ago, they didn't. We visited Silver Dollar City the day before Thanksgiving. Our shuttle bus driving was in training. I was told they are desperate for help to cover the next few weeks. So, while the best time to get a job there may have been earlier in the fall, it is still possible to get a job for the Christmas season now.

Bob and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you had much for which to be thankful.

We shared Thanksgiving with other RVers here at Turkey Creek RV Village in Hollister, Missouri. The park provided turkey, stuffing, and gravy. The rest of dinner was a modified potluck. We had good food, good company, beautiful weather, and more blessings than we could count.

Wherever you are in your work and travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,

Coleen

Working RVer Tip - Gift Wrapping Booth

You can work craft shows, holiday bazaars, and flea markets this time of year, even if you aren't crafty and haven't already made up a bunch of stuff to sell. Set up a gift wrapping booth. You can also use this idea to piggy-back on vendor fairs, those events where Tupperware, Avon, Watkins, Mary Kay, and other direct sales company reps get together to sell at a combined event.

Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts. ~ Janice Maeditere
