Hello my fellow
writers,
I've found a lot of good resources lately and wanted to send them your way. This ended up being a long email, but I hope the useful information makes up for the length! lolol
1) For those of you who will be outsourcing, here is an excellent post with a check-list ;-)
Melissa is an IMer, but this info applies to anyone.
2) When I find great info, I often compile it into PDFs so I can print it out... For PDFs from web pages, I use this site:
3) When you don't need to track sales closely, let someone else take care of it for you. Sign up here and they'll send you an email once a day (mine comes about 9 or 10 pm EDT)
The interface is NOT intuitive... so watch closely and make sure they're tracking everything. There is a sign-up option you need to toggle about tracking all of the books you claim. After you have signed up, go to Settings/Change Notifications Ask me HOW I know this! lololololol
4) I'm a member of ALLi (pronounce Ally / verb - combine or unite a resource or commodity with (another)
for mutual benefit.)
This was a recent blog post. This you WILL want to make a PDF. Mine will get read and highlighted later today and then go to live in my purple Book Marketing notebook.
5) I am a full member at both MyThemeShop and Elegant Themes. At the moment, I am using MyThemeShop - Minimalia to set up my author sites. I know the theme, the support at MyThemeShop is stellar, and I want to get fully functioning sites online as quickly as possible.
That said, I am keeping an eye on ElegantThemes and their Divi Plug-in and Divi
Theme. They look great BUT the learning curve is daunting. They have just started a 100 Days of Divi campaign, leading up to the launch of Divi 3
Get on their list and they'll send you a DL link each day with a new goodie!
This was the link I got today
It's a pretty comprehensive tutorial, rather than a DL ;-)
If you want to check out MyThemeShop, too, here's a link --
And Minimalia --
I like the built-in Home page
slider ;-)
6) I am sure you have heard that Mark Dawson is relaunching his FB Marketing Course today/tonight.
If you can afford it, it might be worth the investment.
I am still procrastinating on FB ads <hangs head in shame>
If you can't afford Mark'scourse, don't panic, there are other options... Jon Loomer has a mass of excellent free info on his site:
One way to approach the FB Ads morass is to analyze what you need to do and look for info on that specifically.
FB Lead Ads for Authors does an excellent job of teaching you specifically how to build your mailing list and at a miniscule price ;-)
And for your mailing list -- Larissa's Reader Army is still top of my list!
