Last week I got some news that no one wants to hear.  I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, which is an auto-immune disease that causes hypothyroidism.  There were some other health things going on as well, which overall have made me feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and a little crazy for the last year or so.  It's nice to finally have some answers but now a new challenge has begun.

One of the things I've struggled with lately is forcing myself to do anything I don't absolutely HAVE to do.  It sounds silly, but it takes so much effort just to get to the grocery store.  Well I started this eating plan on Monday, and still haven't made it to the store to buy all the specialty foods ... but guess what!  I have been able to still eat on my plan and have healthy good meals and even made a yummy treat tonight (even gluten free, dairy free, sugar free cookies are amazing when all you've been eating is green smoothies, chicken, and lettuce). 

 

I'm grateful that I have stored a wide variety of foods that are free of additives, free of sugar, and even gluten-free.  I didn't know I would need this flour but I'm so happy I had some in my food storage, just in case.

I look really rough in that picture but that is exactly how I have felt for a long time.  Here's to hoping for improvement!
