When it comes to home, here are three things to focus on:
First, right now, let comfort be your guide.
Usually I'm a form and function girl--I want things to serve us well and also be visually beautiful, but right now, my style is taking a backseat to making sure we have enough comfy places to sit for the extra man-boys at home and surfaces to do what needs to be done.
That meant bringing in the big cozy green velvet chair and ottoman from the barn even though its faded and weird and the size of a Volkswagen.
That means changing up my office, adding more random seating so it can be the family workroom for all of us.
That means pushing back the sofa and ottoman in the basement to make room for games and we're not ashamed to say it: LEGO challenges.
What can you change in your home right now to make it function better in a cozy comfy way?
Do whatever it takes to make your home a super comfy place, no matter what it looks like.
If that means dragging a mattress to the family room or moving your breakfast table and chairs out to the patio, so be it. Maybe it looks like hanging the hammocks in the basement, moving the TV into a different room, or dragging a storage chest to the dining room.
This is the time to break the rules and let your home serve you well. Amen.
