Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are We Doing?)
Season’s greetings from Texas Hill Country! We hope you had a very Merry Christmas.
Bob and I are spending the winter at Camp Riverview, Concan, Texas. It’s in the Hill Country, west of Hondo. The campground includes over 900-feet of Frio River frontage, a playground for kayakers, tubers, and fishermen. It’s the off-season here, so the park is quiet. Deer and wild turkeys frequent our site–and cardinals! We’ve counted as many as 23 cardinals in view at one time. Overnight temperatures can get chilly
(occasionally below freezing) but the days are usually perfect for being outside.
Bob’s working for the campground. He’s doing maintenance, repair, and upgrades. They are remodeling cabins. It’s a variety of work—carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and mechanical—which suits him just fine. One day he’s installing new granite counter tops. The next day, he’s fixing something on the tractor.
Our travels this year included time in the Midwest. Our mothers, both in their 90s, live in the Dakotas. So that always draws us back there.
We also traveled the southeast and gulf coast states. We ended up in Florida twice, once in January for the RV Super Show and again in October.
You’ll find these and more on the RV Life and Travel website:
I’m not much on making New Year’s resolutions. However, for 2019, I resolve to doing a better job of keeping you updated on our RVing life and travels. Expect to receive the newsletter on a regular basis each month.
Wherever you are in your travels, we wish you joy and prosperity,
Coleen

RVing and Camping Tips
Slap bracelets are great for keeping rolls of paper towels from unravelling. Just slap one over the roll on travel days or when you have a breeze hitting the paper towels just right to unroll them.
Store an extra quilt in a petty pillowcase. When you don’t need the quilt, it acts as a large, decorative pillow. When you do need it, it’s right there, easily accessible.

Mechanical stuff. Fishing. A man's perspective. Bob's articles are always a hit.
