Tomorrow's Message
The sermon tomorrow continue the teaching focus for the month of October: When Things Fall Apart: Coming to terms with suffering and struggle while maintaining faith in a good and powerful God. As I'm sure you'll agree, during these challenging and divided times, we need to hear this kind of teaching.
Tomorrow's message will focus on a large section of the book of Job: chapters 2-31. These verses relay a series of dialogs between Job and three of his friends, who come to support him. As can sometimes happen, the friends who are there to support him try to diagnose Job's problems and offer advice ... and are far from the mark. What's important to keep in mind about these dialogs, however, is that much truth is shared .... it's just shared in the wrong context
and misapplied. As we reflect on how this happens, there's much we can learn about suffering in our own lives.
ALSO NOTE: we will take communion as part of our service tomorrow as well.
I hope you can join us!
