Pregnancy and the Vaccine
According to the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa and the CDC, clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine are underway. They have also confirmed that animal studies conducted using Moderna, Pfizer-Biotech and J&J vaccines found no safety concerns before or during pregnancy.
The CDC has safety monitoring systems in place and early data from these systems are preliminary but reassuring: The "data did not identify any safety concerns for pregnant people who were vaccinated or for their babies.”
If you are pregnant, you can receive a COVID-19 vaccine within the relevant phases. If you have any concerns, speak to a healthcare professional.
