Hello ,

Happy New Year!

Welcome to this week’s issue of The Ripple Effect and some inspiration for your week.

I hope you enjoyed the holidays. It was a bittersweet celebration for us this year as it was the first round of holidays without my Dad but we made the best of it, despite how deeply we miss him. We started some new traditions, which definitely helped us get through it all.  Below is a fun family selfie that we took on Christmas Eve at my sister’s house (I think this will also become a new tradition!)
This week’s quote is about a great way to ensure you’re making the most out of the New Year.  I hope it inspires you to make some positive change in your lives and the lives of those around you in 2015. Feel free to pass this along to anyone who would enjoy reading it.

Keep spreading those positive ripple effects!

Wishing you joy and success,
Andria

Lessons From a Life Well Lived: I’ve wanted to write this blog post for the past month but had to let a bit of time pass before I was able to gather my thoughts. Many of you know that my husband and I had to put our sweet 11-year old basset hound, Swanny, to sleep a couple of months ago. I’ve had dogs for all of my adult life and they each hold a very special place in my heart. I’ve learned a lot from all my dogs but Swanny was a bit different for me. He was a sensitive, unique, and quirky dog who taught me a lot about how to live life well. I wanted to pass some of these lessons onto you in hopes they will help you as they have helped me. [Read more...]

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before...” ~ Neil Gaiman

I read this quote on New Year’s Eve and thought it was a perfect sentiment to share as we start 2015. Despite how often I make mistakes, I definitely don’t enjoy them!  Even though they always produce some of my greatest learning opportunities, I would rather not make them. (Perhaps you can relate to my struggle with perfectionism…?)  Reading this quote by Neil Gaiman put making mistakes in a new light for me. Mistakes mean we are learning and growing – they are an indicator that we are changing and striving and are not being stagnant. I love that! I know that I want 2015 to be filled with new learning and growth opportunities for both me and my clients so if making mistakes is an indicator of how much we are growing then I’ll welcome them.
