Hello ,

Welcome to this week’s issue of The Ripple Effect and some inspiration for your week.
I just returned from a weeklong vacation to Aruba with my husband. It was a long overdue, rescheduled trip we intended to take last spring and again last fall but, due to my dad and our dog getting sick, we had to postpone it twice. It was a great way to start the year and for me, getting away from the cold weather is always an added bonus! Below are a few snapshots of some of the spectacular views we got to see all week.

This week I’m hosting C3’s Vision Retreat with a group of fabulous women who are going to spend time getting clear on their purpose and their vision for the year, and, put a plan in place to start implementing that vision. These women are investing time in themselves to create an amazing year and I can’t wait to spend the day with them!  This inspired me to share this week’s quote, which is all about having that purpose, which is the bigger ‘yes’ that drives your actions.

I hope you enjoy it and feel free to pass it along to anyone who may benefit from reading it.

Keep spreading those positive ripple effects!

Wishing you joy and success,
Andria

Out With The Old and In With The New: I’m one of those people who loves the year-end lists of what’s out and what’s in; so, I decided to create my own list for the New Year. This is not only a personal list but also a list of ideas I will share with and challenge my clients to incorporate into their lives. Perhaps some of these will resonate with you as you step into 2015…out with the old and in with the new! [Read more...]

“You have to decide what your highest priorities are and then have the courage – pleasantly, smilingly, unapologetically- to say ‘no’ to other things. And the way to do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside”. ~Stephen Covey

What I love about this quote is that it stresses the importance of saying no to those things that don’t align with who you are, what you do, or what your purpose is.  Saying no is not easy. In fact, it’s one thing I struggle with quite a bit. However, just as Stephen Covey says, having the bigger burning yes, or the bigger purpose inside, will help you know when to say no.

This week’s inspirational activity:  Do you have a bigger yes inside you that helps you assess when to say yes and when to say no?  If not, spend some time getting clear on your reason for being, your purpose, why you feel passionate about doing certain things versus others. This can and will keep you aligned with doing things that are most meaningful to you and your life. It will also make it crystal clear when to say yes to opportunities and when to, unapologetically and politely, say no.
