Dear ABMInsider,

Summer may be a slow time for some businesses, but we never have downtime here at Atlantic Business Magazine. Instead, we have between-time: as in, between publications – like we are right now. Our July issue, featuring Atlantic Canada’s 2023 CEO of the Year Rosalyn Hyslop on the cover, is in circulation and our September issue is still a few weeks away from going to press.

We’re using this particular stretch of between-time to regroup and strategize for 2024. You can help! How? Read on…

2024 EDITORIAL THEMES

We’re tweaking our editorial themes for the coming year (as you know, themes allow us to take deep dives into topical issues). If you have any thoughts on how we can develop either of these themes, feel free to send me an email with your ideas. Or, if you’d like to submit a nomination for either of our award programs, simply click on the title.

CALL FOR STORY IDEAS

We’re currently finalizing the editorial lineup for our November issue, which will focus on Atlantic Canada's digital transformation: Artificial Intelligence; Automation; Cybersecurity; Customer Service; Digital Marketing; Technology Development; Telecommunications; Data Privacy – there’s so much to think about that I could really use your help narrowing the topic.

Ultimately, I'm looking for story ideas that will stop readers in their tracks... stories that make you go, "WOW, I didn't know that was (or wasn't) happening here!" Have @ me with the Good, the Bad, the Ugly and the truly Remarkable.

Deadline for ideas is July 21

P.S. please be detailed in your suggestions! It’s not enough to say ACME Corporation is doing great stuff with anvils (that only works for Wile E. Coyote).

CHANGE THE WORLD CHALLENGE

If you’re under 40 years of age, live in N.B., N.S., P.E.I. or N.L., and are passionate about making Atlantic Canada a better place to live and work, Atlantic Business Magazine wants to hear from YOU!

We’re recruiting 25 diverse young change makers with the courage to challenge the status quo.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame Alumni Network, which includes some of the most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders in the region. Together, you will identify a priority issue(s) and work to implement creative solutions with global impact.

This is NOT just another “consulting” exercise. Financial supports will be available to help transform creative solutions into actionable reality.

To apply, email me with a short letter that explains why you consider yourself a changemaker and why you want to be part of this groundbreaking project.

Deadline for applications is August 31, 2023.
