Spring / Summer News
Hello again
,
I so love this time of year when, over just a few weeks, the garden bursts back into
life once more. The Clematis montana that we've trained over our front garden water tanks (above) is looking beautiful, heavily scented and already shading those tanks from the strong UV rays of summer sunshine. In permaculture, we like things to have multiple uses and that's a principle we apply in our home and across the garden.
This week I'm off to the Isle of Wight, where I'm really excited to be teaching for the first time. My 4-day introductory course at Permaculture Island starts next Friday (10th). There's still one place left if you're interested. If that's too short notice, I'm teaching another 4-day course next month at the High Nature
Centre on the beautiful South Devon coast. At the end of June we'll be hosting our fourth PDC here at Trelowia. We love sharing all the things that we're doing here and there'll be an abundance of strawberries to share
too!
This autumn, my long-time Designed Visions colleague, Hannah Thorogood, and I will be leading another
Training of Permaculture Teachers course at her Lincolnshire home 'The Inkpot'. If you'd like to gain some tools, skills and confidence to share the permaculture you love with others, whether introductory days or whole PDCs, then this course is for you. A longer
list of courses can be found below.
It's over three decades now since I first discovered permaculture and its ethics, principles, design tools and methods feel more relevant than ever. They offer us a positive way forward, things we can all do,
at a time when so much seems to be going wrong. To help, over the last few months, I've been adding a video a week to a YouTube series that will guide you through the permaculture design process on your own site. It's a great place to start and you can find the full series
here.
I wish you an abundant summer and hope that I'll get to meet you somewhere along the way...
