AWeber API
newsletter | April 2018 |
Move subscribers between lists Over the past month, we made it a priority to enhance the custom field migration of our “move subscriber” endpoint. Our API now maps custom fields between email lists. If any of the custom fields cannot be mapped, the endpoint defaults to its previous behavior. We also added a
new parameter called “enforce_custom_field_mapping.” When set to true, the API returns an error when the fields cannot be mapped. Now, it's a much better user experience since there aren't two different migration behaviors.
Find subscribers The "find subscribers for list" and "find subscribers for account" endpoints received a new “unsubscribed_at” search option. Using this parameter along with “subscribed_at”, allows you to get a full picture of who has been added and/or removed from an email list. This is great for long polling our API for changes!
TLS 1.0 In 2017, new requirements were made regarding PCI DSS compliance. Based on those requirements, most websites accessing credit card data are removing support for TLS 1.0 by June 30, 2018. However, AWeber’s API does not fall under the umbrella of PCI compliance, so we’ll continue to support TLS 1.0 for now. At AWeber, we’ve seen numerous partners and companies proactively remove support for TLS 1.0 before
the June deadline. We recommend checking your servers and/or software to see if you’ll be impacted. If you are unsure about the state of your SSL and TLS support, SSL Labs offers a free SSL tester.
Highlighted Integration: Mailfloss Mailfloss recently completed their API integration with AWeber. This awesome integration helps customers clean up old email lists. The basics of the integration utilize our "find subscribers for account" and the "update subscriber" endpoints. Want to be featured on our showcase like Mailfloss? Submit your integration! We'll review your submission. If it's the right fit
for our showcase, we will get back to you within one week.
