Salvatore Settis is a respected spokesperson for cultural affairs, both in Italy and abroad. He is one of a handful of Italians to have worked abroad in the cultural sector at a very senior level. Salvatore Settis was Director of the Getty Research Institute for the History of Art and the Humanities in Los Angeles. He is currently Emeritus Professor of the History of Classical Art and Archaeology at the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa.
