Kureishi has recently been heavily influenced by watching American Film Noir. He has a new book coming out and is enthusiastic about the TV series that he is writing for the BBC. He thinks it would be very shocking if there had not been terrorism in Europe, and foresees that we could soon all be living in a Right wing world.
